Muratpaşa and Tokmok to become sister cities

The municipality of Muratpaşa in Antalya, Turkey, and the city of Tokmok in Kyrgyzstan have begun the process of establishing a sister‑city relationship. An online meeting coordinated by the Kyrgyzstan Consulate in Antalya brought together Muratpaşa Mayor Ümit Uysal, Tokmok Mayor Kutpidin Şakirov, and senior officials from both municipalities to discuss cooperation in culture, tourism, sport, youth, education and local governance.

The two sides agreed to sign a formal sister‑city protocol during the World Nomadic Games in Kyrgyzstan on 1‑6 September, and Muratpaşa will host the Tokmok delegation at its 11th Kaleiçi Old Town Festival on 8‑11 October. The partnership aims to create joint projects, share municipal experience and promote cultural and sporting exchanges between the two cities.
