Muratpaşa elevator inspections show 99% safety rate
In the Muratpaşa district of Antalya, approximately 12,000 elevators underwent periodic safety inspections during 2025. According to data released by the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers (MMO) Antalya Branch, 99.09% of the inspected units were found suitable for safe use.
The breakdown of safety ratings shows that 95% of the elevators received a blue label, indicating minor flaws that do not threaten safety, while 4.09% received a green label, signifying they are completely safe.
Devrim Kılıç, the head of the MMO Antalya Branch, met with Muratpaşa Mayor Ümit Uysal to discuss the ongoing inspection process and the importance of institutional cooperation in ensuring public safety. The inspection system uses a color-coded labeling method: green for fully safe, blue for minor flaws, yellow for defects requiring repair within 60 days, and red for unsafe elevators that must be removed from service immediately.
