Muratpaşa Municipality divers remove plastic waste from Erenkuş Beach, Antalya

Volunteer divers from the Muratpaşa Municipality carried out a sea‑floor cleanup at Erenkuş Beach in Antalya’s Muratpaşa district. The operation recovered large quantities of plastic and tin packaging that had accumulated on the seabed.

The collected waste will be used in the COP31 project to highlight marine pollution and will be transformed into artistic objects by students of the Fine Arts Faculty, with plans to exhibit the pieces at upcoming COP31 events. The municipality’s regular underwater cleaning program aims to protect the marine ecosystem and raise public awareness about recycling and environmental stewardship.
