Murcia Assembly considers stricter fire sanctions and VOX proposes census controls

The Regional Assembly of Murcia has unanimously approved the consideration of a bill proposed by the PP to amend the region's Emergency and Civil Protection Law. The initiative aims to increase sanctions for actions that cause fires and other emergencies. Under the proposed changes, serious infractions could result in fines of up to 60,000 euros, while very serious infractions could reach one million euros. The law would also allow for the recovery of costs incurred by the mobilization of public services.

Separately, VOX has announced plans to introduce new municipal ordinances in towns where the party holds representation, such as Lorca and Molina de Segura. These measures focus on tightening control over the municipal census (padrón), verifying effective residence, and regulating reports on social integration and housing adequacy. The party stated these actions are intended to ensure compliance with administrative requirements and combat illegal immigration through municipal competencies.
