Murcia Consumer Arbitration Board increases conflict resolutions by 32%

The Consumer Arbitration Board of the Region of Murcia reported a 32% increase in conflict resolutions during the first half of 2026. The board issued 397 awards between January and June, compared to 300 during the same period in 2025.

Director General of Consumption, Alberto Sánchez, noted that more citizens and companies are utilizing this mechanism to resolve disputes between consumers and businesses without resorting to the court system. The arbitration process is free, voluntary, and binding for all participating parties.

To improve accessibility, the regional government has expanded the use of videoconference hearings from 16 to 28 municipalities. This technological implementation aims to allow citizens to participate in proceedings regardless of their location, reducing the need for travel.
