Murcia Health Service develops new patient-centered management strategy
The Murcia Health Service (SMS) is designing a new healthcare management strategy focused on measuring clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction rather than just counting medical procedures. The initiative aims to evaluate the real benefits of healthcare assistance and improve resource utilization in the Murcia region.
During the Amphos Murcia workshop, held in collaboration with AbbVie and World Health Management, health officials discussed transitioning toward value-based healthcare. The proposed model seeks to integrate standardized data, such as Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) and Patient-Reported Experience Measures (PREMs), into electronic health records. This approach intends to provide a more transparent and homogeneous system for decision-making by incorporating how patients evolve and how they value the care received.
