Murcia regional government seeks budget approval and electrical planning
The regional government of Murcia is facing a potential budget extension due to delays in approving expenditure ceilings and a lack of parliamentary consensus. Regional spokesperson Marisa López Aragón has called for “more will” from political forces, specifically targeting Vox, to avoid a budget rollover. The government expressed a desire to approve the budget this year despite the upcoming elections on November 29, noting that the current political climate and the stance of former coalition partners complicate negotiations.
Simultaneously, Murcia is urging the central government to prevent upcoming elections from stalling the approval of the 2025–2030 electrical planning. Environment and Industry Minister Juan María Vázquez requested that the process continue through the Permanent Deputation of the Congress of Deputies to avoid hindering industrial and urban development. The regional administration emphasizes that the electrical plan is essential for the growth of industrial parks and housing, requiring upgrades to the current transport network.
