Murcia sets record for table grape exports at 292.46 million euros

The Region of Murcia achieved a record in table grape exports in 2025, with sales reaching 292.46 million euros, representing a 19% increase compared to the previous year. Murcia currently accounts for 90% of Spain's national production of seedless table grapes and holds a leadership position for this variety in Europe.

A significant driver of this growth was the United Kingdom market, where sales more than doubled, increasing by 109% to exceed 56 million euros. Regional Agriculture Counselor Joaquín Buendía attributed this commercial success to scientific research and innovation, specifically citing the collaboration between the Murcian Institute for Agricultural and Environmental Research and Development (IMIDA) and the Murcian Society for Research and Technology of Table Grapes (ITUM), which has led to the development of 20 new seedless varieties.

The regional agricultural sector is characterized by high levels of technical irrigation, with 87% of crops using advanced systems compared to a 57% national average, and a strong focus on sustainability, with over 113,000 hectares certified for organic farming.
