Murcia Transparency Office Records Surge in Requests, Cites Administrative Silence

The 2025 performance report of the Murcia Transparency Commissioner shows a sharp increase in public information requests, with 219 cases processed—a 71 % rise over the previous year and the highest volume since the office was created. Administrative silence was identified as the main obstacle, accounting for 78.5 % of the complaints, and the office issued 209 resolutions, 150 of which granted access to the requested information.

In the Canary Islands, the municipality of Puntallana earned a top score of 9.24 out of 10 in the 2025 Canary Islands Transparency Index. The city council achieved strong results in mandatory information compliance (6.61/7) and web support (2.23/3). Mayor Víctor Guerra praised the staff for maintaining the transparency portal and pledged to continue improving the service.
