Murdoku book series becomes 2026 bestseller

The book series ‘Murdoku’ by Manuel Garand has become a major publishing phenomenon in 2026, blending crime narratives with logic puzzles and sudoku. The first volume, ‘Murdoku – 80 omicidi misteriosi da risolvere con la logica’, has sold 160,000 copies in Italy alone, making it the country’s best-selling book so far this year with 11 reprints.

Published by Magazzini Salani, the series has also reached the top of bestseller lists in other countries, including Germany and Spain. Editorial Director Marco Figini describes the series as part of a new generation of books that mix gaming, storytelling, and logic, similar to the rise of manga or new romance genres.

A second volume, titled ‘Murdoku 2 – Killer a spasso nel tempo’, is scheduled for release on October 13, featuring 80 new cases for readers to solve.
