Murex d'Or 2026 awards celebrate Arab stars in Lebanon

The 26th edition of the Murex d'Or awards ceremony took place in Lebanon, bringing together a wide array of Arab stars from the fields of cinema, drama, music, and media. This year’s event operated under the theme ‘Return to Roots... An Eye on the Future,’ aiming to celebrate artistic identity and heritage while looking toward the evolution of the industry.

The series ‘Mawlana’ emerged as a major winner, securing five awards. This included the Murex d'Or for Best Syrian Arabic Series. Individual honors for the production included Tim Hassan winning Best Syrian Actor in Drama, Nour Ali winning Best Syrian Actress in Drama, and Nancy Khoury receiving an award for excellence in joint drama for her work in ‘Salma’ and ‘Mawlana.’

In addition to the competitive categories, veteran actress Mona Wassef was honored with a Murex d'Or shield for her lifetime achievements and her performance in ‘Mawlana.’ The red carpet featured prominent figures such as Laila Eloui, Kosai Khauli, and Pamela El Kik, reflecting the event's significant regional media presence.
