Murffin discs celebrates 20th anniversary with new film and artist collaborations

The indie label murffin discs has released a trailer and poster for its 20th-anniversary film, ‘Hajimari no Sayonara’, scheduled for release on November 20. The film, which follows a boy navigating the changes brought by puberty and music, features a theme song by the band sumika and music composed by Ryota Yanagisawa of SUPER BEAVER.

Several artists from the murffin discs label, including members of SUPER BEAVER, sumika, and Macaroni Empitsu, will make special appearances. The film has been selected for the ‘Vision for Asia’ competition at the 31st Busan International Film Festival in South Korea.

Separately, the band sumika has unveiled the main visual for ‘sumika x Toichiro Ruto CINEMA & LIVE “SCENE”’, a special event scheduled for November 14–15, 2026, at Pia Arena MM. The event will combine a solo concert with short film segments directed by Toichiro Ruto to create a cinematic musical experience.
