Muriaé amusement park accident kills 11-year-old boy

An 11-year-old boy, identified as Daniel Luccas Bastos, died on Sunday night after being struck by an amusement park ride in Muriaé, Minas Gerais. The incident occurred at the municipal exhibition park in the Boa Vista neighborhood.

According to reports from the ride operator, the child was on the ‘Space Loop’ ride when he dropped a flip-flop. Although the equipment was reportedly stopped to allow him to retrieve the footwear, the boy jumped over the protective railing to reach the item and was subsequently struck by the ride's structure.

Emergency responders from the Fire Department and the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) arrived at the scene around 10:00 PM, but the child's death was confirmed at the site. The area has been preserved for investigation by the Civil Police to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
