Muriel Wines acquires Marqués de la Concordia brand

Muriel Wines has acquired the Marqués de la Concordia brand, including its associated trademark registrations, through a public auction. The sale was conducted online by IAG Auction as part of a liquidation process involving Federico Paternina, Lagunilla, and other entities.

This acquisition is part of Muriel Wines' strategy to diversify and expand its international presence. The group currently manages 8 wineries and 11 brands, with products sold in over 50 countries. Approximately 80% of its business is driven by exports. The company reported a 9.75% increase in turnover for the 2026 fiscal year (covering July 2024 to July 2026).

Javier Murúa, CEO of Muriel Wines, stated that the incorporation of Marqués de la Concordia strengthens the group's consolidated structure. The company intends to preserve the brand's identity while exploring its growth potential. Between 2019 and 2021, the Marqués de la Concordia brand recorded sales of 18.49 million euros within the Rioja Denomination of Origin.
