Murilo Benício to reprise role in Avenida Brasil sequel

Actor Murilo Benício will return to his role as Tufão in the sequel to the successful TV Globo telenovela ‘Avenida Brasil’. The production is scheduled to premiere in January 2027.

Benício expressed that he initially had significant doubts about accepting the invitation, citing the immense cultural impact and memory of the original 2012 series. He compared the original show's popularity to the atmosphere of a World Cup final. However, he ultimately decided to participate due to the opportunity to revisit the story 15 years later and reunite with the original cast.

Other confirmed returning cast members include Adriana Esteves, Débora Falabella, Eliane Giardini, Cauã Reymond, Juliano Cazarré, Marcos Caruso, and Karol Lannes.
