Muro Lucano prepares for return of San Gennaro Maiella slalom race

The “Città di Muro Lucano- Trofeo San Gennaro Maiella” slalom race is scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 20, on the bends of the SP ex SS 7 Appia road in Muro Lucano. Organized by Basilicata Motorsport and supported by the local administration, the event follows its revival last year after a twelve-year hiatus.

The competition serves as a valid event for the ACI Sport 4th Zone Cup, the Turistica Slalom specialty, the 8th “Canio Vazza” Memorial, and the 23rd Challenge Interregionale CPB (Campania, Puglia, Basilicata). The course covers 2,995 meters and includes 12 slowing chicane pins.

Participants include a variety of vehicles such as prototypes, single-seaters, kartcross, rally cars, and historic models. Previous winners include Carmelo Coviello, Berardino Vaccaro, and Giovanni Piccolo. Technical inspections will begin on Saturday, September 19, with the race program continuing Sunday with reconnaissance laps and three competition heats.
