Murphy Oil appoints Michol Ecklund as Chief Legal Officer

Murphy Oil Corporation has appointed Michol L. Ecklund as Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, and Corporate Secretary, effective August 31, 2026. In this capacity, Ecklund will join the company’s Executive Leadership Team and oversee legal, compliance, governance, government affairs, land, sustainability, and risk management functions.

Ecklund brings over 25 years of experience in the energy industry. Her previous roles include serving as Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Anew Climate, as well as Senior Vice President, Chief Sustainability Officer, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at Callon Petroleum Company. She also spent 15 years at Marathon Oil Corporation, where she served as Deputy General Counsel. She will report directly to President and CEO Eric M. Hambly.
