Musa Anter Journalism Awards held in Diyarbakır

The 33rd Musa Anter and Press Martyrs Journalism Awards were held at the ÇandAmed Congress Center in Diyarbakır. Organized by the Dicle Fırat Journalists Association (DFG), the ceremony honored journalists and featured the participation of families of deceased journalists, political party representatives, and civil society organizations.

DFG Co-Chair Kesira Önel addressed the gathering, noting that the tradition of a free press has endured despite censorship, arrests, and unsolved murders. Önel emphasized the ongoing obstacles to practicing the profession and called for the removal of pressure policies against the media and the implementation of legal steps to support a peaceful media environment.

Dicle Anter, son of Musa Anter, delivered a message in memory of his father, while representatives from the Free Press Union (YRA) highlighted the award's commitment to honoring those who sacrificed their lives for the truth.
