Police arrests follow knife attack in Kosovo and violent clashes in Albania and North Macedonia

Kosovo police reported that a 16‑year‑old suspect attacked civilians with a knife in Ferizaj, injuring three officers during the attempt to detain him. The teenager resisted, threw a petrol bottle at himself and continued to threaten police while his mother tried to intervene. He was eventually taken into custody.

In Albania, police said three people were arrested and a fourth remains at large after fights broke out over personal disputes in Kamëz and the Kombinat area of Tirana. Two youths, aged 20 and 21, were detained for striking two persons with clubs, while a 37‑year‑old was arrested for physically assaulting two citizens and a 33‑year‑old was declared wanted.

North Macedonian authorities, together with U.S. diplomatic security officers, arrested Musa Xhavit, a 26‑year‑old linked to the criminal group “Bellanoca”, for the July 2023 killing of an ARM officer in the village of Batincë. Xhavit, who was already wanted on an international warrant for a prior murder, was captured in Durrës as part of a joint operation.
