Musa Özsoy under investigation for fraud and forgery

Musa Özsoy, a social media influencer known as ‘Gıda Dedektifi’ (Food Detective), is under investigation by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for fraud and forgery. Although he presented himself as a food expert to millions of followers, investigations revealed he has no training in food engineering; his actual profession is urban planning.

The Ministry of Trade's Advertising Board imposed an administrative fine of 550,059 TL on Özsoy for conducting undisclosed commercial advertisements and making scientifically unfounded health claims. Investigators also found that he manipulated his review criteria based on brand sponsorships, praising partnered brands while unfairly targeting those without financial agreements.

Furthermore, Özsoy is suspected of attempting to defraud the public of 8 million TL in 2023 through a non-existent company under the guise of an upcoming stock market launch. The investigation has also extended to his international business activities, with findings suggesting document forgery and balance sheet manipulation within his UK-based companies, INGR Technology LTD and Ozsoy Social Media LTD.
