Musalia Mudavadi declares 2032 presidential ambition

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has announced his intention to run for the presidency in the 2032 General Election. During an interview on August 23, Mudavadi clarified that he does not seek a running mate position for the 2032 race, stating, “2032, I'm not asking to be a running mate; 2032 is my interest for the Presidency.”

Mudavadi confirmed his immediate political focus remains on supporting President William Ruto’s re-election bid in 2027. He emphasized that his support for Ruto is a “deliberate choice” and is not conditional on securing specific government positions.

To bolster support for the President in the Western region, Mudavadi recently launched the Magharibi Movement. This initiative mobilizes political and community leaders across Kakamega, Bungoma, Busia, Vihiga, and Trans Nzoia counties. The movement aims to build a grassroots network and prioritize voter registration within these regions.
