MUSCARIUM festival returns to Sintra for 12th edition

The 12th edition of the MUSCARIUM performing arts festival will take place in Sintra from September 4 to 20. Organized by Teatromosca, the event features theater, dance, music, cinema, and art exhibitions across various locations in the municipality.

Key performances include ‘Gosto, Logo Existo’ by the Terceira Pessoa company, which examines the impact of social media and disinformation on youth, and ‘A Maior Flor do Mundo e as Pequenas Memórias,’ a family-oriented production inspired by the work of José Saramago. The festival will conclude on September 20 at Largo Rainha D. Amélia with a community celebration featuring LAMA Teatro, Joan Català, and Colectivo Glovo.

This marks the final edition of the festival in its current format. In 2027, MUSCARIUM is scheduled to relaunch with a new concept dedicated exclusively to contemporary dramaturgy for young audiences.
