Musée de l’Homme restricts access to Almamy Bokar Biro Barry remains

The human remains of Almamy Bokar Biro Barry are no longer accessible to the public at the Musée de l’Homme in Paris. This change follows a formal request for restitution made by Guinean authorities, specifically through the Ministry of Culture, which was initiated in August.

An anthropologist and descendant of Barry visited the museum to view the remains but was informed of their unavailability. The visitor has requested detailed institutional information from the museum regarding the remains, including their inventory number, the date they entered the collection, and the specific circumstances surrounding their collection or transfer to the institution.
