Musée Jacquemart-André to host major Tintoretto retrospective

The Musée Jacquemart-André in Paris will host a major retrospective dedicated to the Italian Renaissance master Jacomo Robusti, known as Tintoretto. Running from September 11, 2026, to January 24, 2027, the exhibition marks the first large-scale retrospective of the artist in France.

The exhibition will feature approximately forty paintings and works on paper sourced from French, Italian, and international collections. The display aims to showcase the breadth of Tintoretto’s career, from his significant contributions to the Venetian Republic—including works for the Doge’s Palace and the Scuola Grande di San Rocco—to his unique artistic synthesis of Michelangelo’s draftsmanship and Titian’s use of color.

Beyond his Renaissance achievements, the exhibition will explore Tintoretto’s enduring influence on 19th-century French painting, tracing his impact on artists such as Ingres, Delacroix, and Manet.
