Musée Matisse hosts exhibition on Matisse and Yves Saint Laurent
The Musée Matisse in Nice is hosting a major exhibition titled ‘Henri Matisse – Yves Saint Laurent. Le beau, la mode et le bonheur’, exploring the profound artistic connection between the painter and the fashion designer.
Although the two masters lived in different eras and never met, the exhibition highlights their shared passion for color, light, and the intersection of fine arts and applied arts. The collection features approximately 160 works, including haute couture dresses, traditional costumes, paintings, drawings, textiles, accessories, and archival documents.
The display draws from the collections of the Musée Matisse and the Fondation Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent, supplemented by significant external loans. The exhibition is scheduled to run until September 28, 2026.
