Museo Amparo hosts Latin American art exhibition
The Museo Amparo in Puebla is hosting a new exhibition titled ‘El hogar que habito’ (The home I inhabit). The show features 30 pieces from the Colección Femsa, marking the first time these works have been removed from the collection for public display.
Curated by Eugenia Braniff, Paulina Bravo, and Beto Díaz, the exhibition brings together works from 60 Latin American artists across multiple generations. Notable artists included in the showcase are Francisco Toledo, Fernando Botero, and Leonora Carrington. The curatorial narrative explores themes of identity, history, and territory, moving from the individual body to broader social contexts. The exhibition uses the concept of ‘inhabiting’ as a metaphor to examine the relationship between the subject and the world, addressing topics such as migration and violence.
