Museo Baburizza launches inclusive guides for visitors

The Museo de Bellas Artes de Valparaíso, in collaboration with the Empresa Portuaria Valparaíso (EPV), has launched ‘El Museo en fácil’, a new inclusive guide designed to improve access to its spaces, contents, and collections.

The guide focuses on three primary dimensions of accessibility: mobility, to assist visitors in navigating the museum; communication, providing clear information through various sensory perceptions including sight, hearing, and touch; and comprehension, using simplified content to help visitors engage with the artworks and the museum’s history.

Rafael Torres, director of Museo Baburizza, stated that these tools aim to ensure the museum feels like an open space where all individuals can learn and participate, acknowledging that fine arts museums have historically not always been accessible to everyone.
