Museo de Pontevedra releases facsimile edition of Castelao manuscripts

The Diputación de Pontevedra, in collaboration with Galaxia Editorial, has published a facsimile edition of ‘Os vellos non deben de namorarse’. This work is the only play written and illustrated by Alfonso Daniel Rodríguez Castelao.

The three-volume hardcover set is presented in a protective case and reproduces the original handwritten texts and illustrations currently held at the Museo de Pontevedra. The edition includes a preliminary leather-bound version gifted by Castelao to Rodolfo Prada in 1940, as well as the 1953 manuscript version consisting of three folders. A third volume contains academic studies regarding the work’s creation and biographical significance.

While a limited number of copies will be available for sale, the primary objective of the publication is to provide these historical materials to researchers and academic institutions. The official presentation will feature remarks from Vice President Rafa Domínguez, Museo de Pontevedra Director Ángeles Tilve, and the President of the Real Academia Galega, Henrique Monteagudo.
