Museo del Madruelo construction begins in Cáceres
Construction has begun on the Museo del Madruelo in Cáceres, a major cultural project designed by architect Patxi Mangado. The new building is intended to serve as a significant cultural landmark for the city, comparable to the Casco Histórico or the Museo Helga de Alvear.
The museum will house an international collection of musical instruments and over 14,000 ceramic pieces from the Fundación La Fontana. Local residents have expressed support for the project, noting that the development is expected to revitalize the Ribera del Marco and Santiago square areas, which they described as having been neglected or prone to vandalism in recent years.
