Museo El Porvenir advances conservation and biodiversity projects

The Museo de Bellas Artes de la Biblioteca Popular “El Porvenir” has entered a new phase of museological work following a renewed cooperation agreement with the Municipality of Concepción del Uruguay. Supported by municipal funding, museologists Cielo Alonso and Luciano Biderbort have resumed technical tasks including the conservation, registration, documentation, and organization of the institution's heritage collection.

Recent efforts included surveying the technical reserve, conservation workshop, and institutional archives. Technical improvements involved activating dehumidifiers in the technical reserve, reviewing environmental monitoring devices, and performing mechanical cleaning of various works. Additionally, museum staff updated topographic records to correct discrepancies between the physical location of pieces and their documented entries.

Simultaneously, the Museo Estancia El Porvenir is advancing the “Activando los Sentidos en el Parque del Museo” project, funded by the Fundación Williams. This initiative has introduced interactive and educational signage to highlight the park's biodiversity. New features include QR codes that allow visitors to hear bird songs, descriptions of 20 observable species, and interactive panels focused on local legends and natural conservation.
