Museo Fallero recovers missing 1969 historical figure

The Museo Fallero in Valencia has recovered a historical 'ninot indultat' (pardoned figure) that had been missing since the 1990s. The piece, titled ‘Tot és cant’, was the pardoned children's figure for the 1969 Fallas festival, belonging to the Espartero-Ramón y Cajal commission.

Created by artist Ramon Sanchis, the sculpture depicts a blind man accompanied by a dog on a star-shaped base. The figure disappeared during a comprehensive museum reform and reorganization of its collections in the 1990s, which left a chronological gap in the museum's exhibition between 1968 and 1970.

The museum has located the piece within its own holdings and plans to undergo a restoration process. Once restored, it will be reintegrated into the permanent historical collection to complete the chronological sequence of the museum's children's pardoned figures.
