Museo Fueguino de Arte hosts Indigenous women's exhibition

The collective exhibition ‘Mujeres Originarias, Voz Ancestral’ (Indigenous Women, Ancestral Voice) has opened at the Museo Fueguino de Arte Niní Bernardello in Río Grande. Held in observance of Indigenous Women’s Month, the exhibition features a variety of works including basketry, crafts, encapsulated resin, clothing design, and textiles created by women from various indigenous peoples.

The initiative is a collaborative effort between the Subsecretaría de Pueblos Originarios y Diversidades Culturales and the Museo Fueguino de Arte. The opening event included a discussion panel focused on identity, memory, territory, and the intergenerational transmission of knowledge. Participants included representatives from the Selknam, Atacama, Kolla, Mapuche, Yagán, Quechua, and Kilme, Hualfin, and Likanantai peoples.

The exhibition is open to the public with free admission until September 26.
