Museo Gallardo reopens in Rosario after two-year renovation

The Doctor Ángel Gallardo Provincial Museum of Natural Sciences is set to reopen its doors in Rosario this Friday at 18:30 following a two-year renovation period. The project involved an investment of 224 million pesos and addressed structural issues, including roof waterproofing, ceiling renovations, and electrical system upgrades. Other improvements included new lighting, repaired entrances, sidewalk renovations on Dorrego and Moreno streets, updated signage, and reorganized parking areas.

The reopening features a new museological and museographic project with several key exhibitions. These include ‘Ecos: una cartografía. Diversidad biocultural santafesina’, which explores the territory and environment; ‘Entropías. Arqueología de las colecciones del Gallardo’, focusing on biological, paleontological, and archaeological heritage; and ‘Naturaleza expuesta. Fascinación, curiosidad y poder’, regarding the history of natural science museums. A temporary exhibition of photography and taxidermy will also be available.

Provincial Culture Minister Susana Rueda noted that the works resolved issues caused by a previous water tank overflow. The museum will be open to visitors from Thursday to Sunday, and schools may now request appointments.
