Museo Goya reopens in Zaragoza after major renovation

The Museo Goya in Zaragoza has reopened following an extensive architectural renovation and expansion led by Fundación Ibercaja. Designed by Sebastián Arquitectos, the project increases the museum's area to 4,661 square meters, creating more accessible and connected spaces. A new entrance on Calle Santiago features a stone facade inspired by Goya’s famous prints and includes a large digital screen for multimedia content.

The reopening is marked by a temporary exhibition titled ‘Solo Goya. El arte de ver’, curated by Luis Antonio Fernández-Galiano. Running until January 10, the exhibition features 41 original masterpieces from national and international collections, including works from the Museo del Prado and the National Gallery in London. The exhibition explores the artist's evolution, contrasting his early luminous works with the darker, more critical pieces from his later years.
