Museo Interactivo Mirador Solar System Exhibition Opens in Temuco

The Museo Interactivo Mirador (MIM) launched a free, interactive exhibition titled “Travesía Solar: descubriendo nuestro sistema planetario” at the Museo Nacional Ferroviario Pablo Neruda in Temuco. The display, which runs until 23 August, features 11 hands‑on modules and graphic panels covering the Earth, Moon, Sun, planets, comets, asteroids and dwarf planets, as well as content on the Voyager missions.

The program is backed by the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage and the Temuco municipality. MIM’s cultural astronomy coordinator Sergio Vásquez said the exhibit “talks about the different components of the solar system and phenomena we can observe, allowing visitors to discover interactively how gravity originates.” Student Fernanda Echeverría praised the activities as “fun” and invited others to attend. Regional culture seremi Samir Manukian highlighted the partnership between public institutions, arts and science as a way to foster classroom innovation.
