Museo Nazionale d’Abruzzo reopens in historic Castello dell’Aquila
The Museo Nazionale d’Abruzzo (MuNDA), housed in the 16th-century Castello dell’Aquila, has reopened its historic headquarters following a long closure caused by the 2009 earthquake. The reopening marks a significant cultural milestone for the city of L'Aquila, symbolizing the progress of the region's reconstruction efforts.
To enhance the visitor experience, the museum has implemented a new interactive multimedia project titled ‘IRIDE’. Designed by Director Federica Zalabra in collaboration with Frame Multimedia Solutions, the system features a large-scale touch wall with five Full HD screens. This technology allows visitors to explore connections between artworks and create personalized itineraries. Users can generate QR codes via the interface to save their preferred works to a smartphone, allowing for continued study of the collection outside the museum walls.
