Museo Sorolla to reopen in Madrid following expansion
The Museo Sorolla in Madrid is set to reopen this October following a two-year closure for expansion. The project added over 2,000 square meters of space, including new exhibition rooms and an auditorium, while improving accessibility. The reopening will feature an exhibition titled ‘Tras la casa del artista. Arquitecturas del Museo Sorolla, 1905-2026’, which explores the architectural evolution of the painter’s former home.
In a separate cultural development, French artist Franck Sastre and artist Asun Glez are seeking municipal permission in Vigo to launch an outdoor art project. The proposal involves using twelve large advertising billboards as canvases for paintings, including live painting sessions to engage the public and bring art into the streets.
