Museo Universitario Fernando del Paso hosts street art exhibition

The Museo Universitario Fernando del Paso at the Universidad de Colima is hosting the final month of the exhibition ‘Street art en el siglo XXI. Cultura pop, graffiti y crítica social’ (Street Art in the 21st Century: Pop Culture, Graffiti, and Social Criticism).

The exhibition features approximately 20 original pieces, including works by emblematic artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, and DEATH NYC. The collection is a collaborative effort between the Universidad de Colima and collector, production designer, and actor Guillermo ‘Pony’ Cossío.

Cossío noted that the exhibition reflects his personal vision of street art representatives from both the 21st century and the previous century. He mentioned that his aesthetic perspective is partly influenced by the atmosphere of the 1979 film ‘The Warriors’, which depicted the environment of New York City during the late 1970s and early 1980s.
