Museu da Língua Portuguesa celebrates 20 years in São Paulo

The Museu da Língua Portuguesa in São Paulo is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the temporary exhibition ‘Luz da Língua’. The showcase revisits the institution's history through videos, original documents, photographs, and drawings from its collection. Curated by Isa Grinspum Ferraze, the exhibition explores the Portuguese language as a living, evolving intangible heritage.

One section of the exhibition is designed to make visitors active participants through workshops, storytelling, and games. An audiovisual installation features various personalities, including writer Valter Hugo Mãe and indigenous writer Davi Kopenawa, reflecting on their relationship with the language.

Additionally, the museum's educational center offers free guided tours of the Estação da Luz building on Saturdays and Sundays. These tours highlight the station's architecture, its historical connection to the coffee economy, and its role in the history of immigration in São Paulo.
