Museu do Ipiranga hosts free cultural programming for September 7 holiday

The Museu do Ipiranga is hosting the “Museu em Festa” event on September 7, coinciding with Brazil's Independence Day holiday. This edition marks the conclusion of the institution's 130th-anniversary celebrations.

In partnership with Sesc, the museum offers a free cultural program from 9:00 to 18:00, featuring theater, circus performances, music, and workshops. Highlights include the street theater show “ACORDA!” by Grupo Esparrama, circus performances, and musical presentations such as the Canto Coral Afrobrasileiro and CORALUSP. The festivities will conclude with a set by DJ Hum featuring genres like black music, jazz, reggae, and samba rock.

Accessibility features are integrated throughout the event, including Libras translation, audio description, sensory backpacks, and regulation spaces. Visitors can also access long-term exhibitions such as “Uma História do Brasil.” Admission is free, with tickets distributed in person on the day of the event on a first-come, first-served basis.
