Museu Nacional reaches 100,000 visitors for temporary exhibitions

The Museu Nacional, part of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), has reached a milestone of 100,000 visitors for its temporary exhibitions since they opened to the public on June 21.

The 100,000th visitor was Camila Rodrigues, deputy director of the Municipal School Theófilo D’Avilla in Saquarema, who visited the Quinta da Boa Vista site accompanied by students. This milestone comes just over three months after the resumption of temporary exhibition activities, which represent a gradual return to operations following the 2018 fire.

While temporary programming continues, reconstruction work on the historic building remains ongoing. There is currently no official timeline for the full reopening of the museum's permanent collection.
