Museum in Przeworsk documents regional summer traditions

The Museum in Przeworsk is conducting a ministerial project to document contemporary summer religious and folk traditions in the Przeworsk region. A team of photographers and a videographer are capturing various parish feasts, pilgrimages to sites such as Częstochowa and Kalwaria Pacławska, and local harvest festivals (dożynki).

The documentation includes the rare custom of blessing dill on August 6, practiced in the parishes of Nowosielce, Świętoniowa, and the Bernardines in Przeworsk. The project also incorporates historical black-and-white photographs from the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences dating back to the late 1950s to provide historical context for local religious icons and seasonal customs.
