Museum Night in Villages to feature 170+ sites across Romania and Moldova

The fourth edition of ‘Museum Night in Villages’ is scheduled for August 29, 2026, featuring over 170 cultural sites across Romania and the Republic of Moldova. The event aims to promote rural heritage through free access to museums, memorial houses, and traditional collections.

In Romania, participating locations include various sites in Maramureș, Arad, Dâmbovița, Timiș, and Buzău. Activities range from guided tours of wooden churches and ethnographic museums to workshops on traditional crafts like weaving and spinning. Specific highlights include the ‘Wool Road’ exhibition in Mândra, Moldova, and the ‘Tescani 50’ retrospective at the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant in Bucharest, which celebrates 50 years of the Tescani painting camps.

In the Republic of Moldova, 13 cultural objectives across 10 districts will participate, offering workshops in embroidery, traditional cooking, and folk music performances to help preserve intergenerational knowledge.
