Museum of Christianity in Slovenia opens Sinajska gora exhibition
The Museum of Christianity in Slovenia in Stična opened the exhibition "Sinajska gora – simbol svetosti" on 30 July, running until 27 September. Curated by Dr Marko Frelih of the Slovene Ethnographic Museum and Alenka Pipan Mubi, senior curator at the Gorenjka Museum, the show presents a unique collection of colour glass diapositives from the first half of the 20th century, supplemented by black‑and‑white photographs from the Missionary Centre of Slovenia. The images document the Sinai Peninsula and the Greek Orthodox Monastery of St Katherine, reflecting the research trips of Slovene biblical scholars Anton Jehart, Matija Slavič and Andrej Snoj between 1925 and 1935. The exhibition highlights the biblical significance of Mount Sinai and its cultural heritage for Slovenia.
