Museum Viernheim Holds Family Workshop on Historic School Life

The Museum Viernheim in Germany will host a family workshop titled “Als Uroma und Uropa in die Schule gingen” on Sunday, 16 August 2026 from 14:30 to 16:00. Children aged four and older, accompanied by an adult, can create their own slate tablets and experience how schooling was conducted a century ago, including the materials used for writing and arithmetic.

The event, led by Antje Gräfe, aims to illustrate the differences between past and present classroom practices. Participation costs €5 for children and €1 for adults, and registration is required via e‑mail or phone. The workshop takes place at the museum’s site on Berliner Ring 28 in Viernheim.
