Mushroom exhibitions open in Klatovy and Poděbrady

Mushroom exhibitions have launched in Klatovy and Poděbrady, showcasing a wide variety of fungi to the public.

In Klatovy, mycologist Svatopluk Ján noted that while current weather conditions have not been ideal for mushroom growth, the exhibition features significant specimens. Highlights include the invasive Archer's amanita, which has spread in the region, and truffles from Croatia. The display focuses on educational aspects, including poisonous species to help visitors avoid them and mushrooms with medicinal properties.

In Poděbrady, the Mushroom Association of Poděbrady is hosting an exhibition featuring over 260 species, primarily sourced from the Nymburk region and the Jizera Mountains. The event includes educational components for children and culinary offerings, such as mushroom soups and various prepared dishes, allowing visitors to both view and taste different varieties.
