Czech Republic mushroom season sees new exhibitions and findings
The mushroom foraging season is underway in the Czech Republic, despite a delayed start caused by hot summer weather. Mycology experts report various findings, including boletes, chanterelles, and more rare species like the scarlet amanita in the Chrudim area.
In Znojmo, the South Moravian Museum is hosting a ‘Living Mushrooms at Alšovka’ exhibition, which aims to showcase over 300 species from the Znojmo region. The museum has invited local foragers to contribute their own finds for expert identification and inclusion in the display.
Additionally, the Mycology Club in Dolní Újezd remains active, offering a mycological advisory service every Monday afternoon. An exhibition featuring various species is also scheduled for the second weekend of October in the town.
