Music events held in Skopje celebrate Macedonian musical heritage

Skopje has hosted significant musical events at the Jane Sandanski Sports Center, focusing on different eras of Macedonian music.

On October 23, the rock group Memorija performed a three-hour concert marking the Day of the Macedonian Revolutionary Struggle. The event featured a tribute to the late composer Toše Pop Simonov, with performances by the cover band Four and vocalist Ivica Stojanovski Fic. The concert included musical roots of the domestic rock scene and featured guest performers such as cellist Sara Ilievska and vocalist David Temelkov.

Additionally, a Macedonian Kafana Night is scheduled for December 25. This event aims to celebrate traditional urban bohemian music and features performers Suzana Gavazova, Naum Petreski, Mile Kuzmanovski, and Blagoja Grujovski. The evening is designed to recreate a traditional kafana atmosphere with a live orchestra and is intended to become an annual tradition.
