Music festivals celebrate culture in Drummondville and Dieppe

The 19th edition of the Poutine Festival in Drummondville took place from August 6 to 8, featuring a diverse musical lineup and ten poutine vendors. Notable performers included the American punk rock band The Offspring, who played to a sold-out crowd, as well as Quebec artists such as Vulgaires Machins, Lou-Adriane Cassidy, Loud, and J-F Pauzé.

In Dieppe, the inaugural Fricot Franco festival opened with a performance by Louisiana Cajun singer and violinist Jourdan Thibodeaux. Performing for over 2,000 attendees at Place 1604, Thibodeaux and his band, Les Rôdailleurs, showcased authentic Cajun music. During the event, Thibodeaux emphasized the importance of preserving the French and Acadian languages.
