Music industry highlights major releases for late August 2026

The final week of August 2026 features several major music releases in the Japanese market, highlighted by anniversary tributes and best-of collections.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary duo Pink Lady, a tribute album titled ‘Pink Lady Densetsu Now and Forever -50th Anniversary Tribute Album-’ is scheduled for release on August 26. The project includes covers by various artists such as Chisato Moritaka, Maki Watase, and the unit Shin Koizumi Mix Productions.

Other notable releases include the 21st single from the idol group equals LOVE, titled ‘Koi, Hajimemashita.’, which has gained international attention following a performance on the South Korean program ‘Inkigayo’. Additionally, the K-pop group TWICE is releasing a comprehensive four-disc best album, ‘TWICE BEST ALBUM #BEST 2015-2025’, compiling their Korean original tracks and Japanese versions. BONNIE PINK is also releasing a best-of collection to mark her 30th anniversary since her major debut.
